Cedar Park, TX Mon–Fri 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Accepting New Patients

If you need a pediatrician open now, here is the short version: Teddy Bear Pediatrics in Cedar Park is open Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, and we keep same-day appointments for sick children. Call (512) 931-1575. We don't take walk-ins.

How to get a same-day sick visit

  1. Call when we open at 8:30 AM. Early calls get the most choice of times.
  2. Describe the symptoms. Our staff will ask a few questions to decide how soon your child should be seen.
  3. Bring the insurance card, a list of medicines and when the last dose of fever medicine was given.
  4. New to the practice? Pre-register online while you wait.

Common reasons for a same-day visit

  • Fever lasting more than a couple of days, or with other symptoms
  • Ear pain or sore throat
  • Barking cough, wheezing or a cough that won't settle
  • Vomiting or diarrhea, rashes, pink eye, minor injuries

When not to wait for the office

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room, at any hour, if your child:

  • is struggling to breathe, or the lips or face look blue;
  • has a seizure, or is very hard to wake;
  • is a baby younger than 3 months with a temperature of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher, and the office is closed;
  • shows signs of dehydration: no urine for 8 hours or more, no tears, very dry mouth;
  • has a serious injury, or you think they swallowed something harmful (also call Poison Help, 1-800-222-1222).

When the office is closed

  • Emergencies: call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
  • Possible poisoning: call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222 (free, 24/7).
  • Non-emergency questions after hours: call our office number, (512) 931-1575, for after-hours guidance, or book a telemedicine visit for the next business day.
  • Not sure whether it can wait? See when to call the pediatrician and fever: when to see a doctor.
