Leander is our closest neighbor. The office sits on Ronald W. Reagan Blvd, the same road many Leander families already use to reach Cedar Park, so a pediatrician near Leander, TX can mean a 10-minute drive rather than a trip across town. Dr. Minal Patel is accepting new patients, from newborns to teens.
The drive from Leander
- From central Leander (around City Hall): east on RM 2243 (South Street, then Leander Road), then right onto Ronald W. Reagan Blvd. About 10 minutes and 6 miles without traffic.
- From neighborhoods near SH 29: Ronald W. Reagan Blvd runs north from the office all the way to SH 29, so you can stay on one road for the whole trip.
- Address: 14300 Ronald W. Reagan Blvd, Unit 405, Cedar Park, TX 78641. Map and directions.
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, by appointment. We don't take walk-ins.
Newborns and growing families
A newborn needs several visits in the first weeks: a check a few days after discharge, weight checks while feeding gets going, and the first-month visits. When each trip is short, those early weeks are easier on a parent who is recovering from the birth. You can meet the practice and pre-register before the baby arrives.
- Newborn and infant care, including feeding and weight checks
- Guides for new parents: newborn jaundice and newborn feeding
- Older siblings can be seen at the same practice, so one family can keep one pediatrician
Same-day sick visits
We hold appointments each day for sick visits: fevers, ear pain, coughs, rashes, vomiting. Call (512) 931-1575 when the office opens at 8:30 AM. Because the drive from Leander is short, a later-morning or early-afternoon slot is usually workable even if you have to collect a child from school first. Some follow-ups can be done by telemedicine instead.
Not a sick visit? For trouble breathing, a seizure, a young baby with any fever, or a child who is hard to wake, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room rather than driving to the office. Fever: when to see a doctor.
Leander ISD forms and vaccines
Leander ISD student athletes need a physical on the district's own form, which the district posts on its athletics pages to be taken to the doctor; the rest of the athletic paperwork is submitted online through Rank One. Bring the printed form with the parent sections filled in. Every Texas student also needs the state-required vaccines on record, and the school nurse may ask for an updated immunization record when a new vaccine is due. Both can be handled at the yearly well-child visit.
Sleep problems at home
Snoring, restless nights and a child who is hard to wake for school are common reasons parents bring up sleep at a checkup. Dr. Patel is board-certified in sleep medicine as well as pediatrics, so a child's sleep problem can be evaluated in the same practice, and a parent with sleep trouble can be seen there too.
Why Leander families choose Teddy Bear Pediatrics
- Dr. Minal Patel is board-certified in both Pediatrics and Sleep Medicine.
- Pediatric care for children; sleep care for children and adults.
- Accepting new patients, Mon–Fri 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Most major insurance; Medicaid and CHIP for sleep medicine.
- English, Gujarati and Hindi.
